You’ll build the essential skills, critical thinking, and creativity to stay ahead of cybercriminals. You'll also gain analytical abilities, communication, teamwork, and advanced technology expertise. Whether you're protecting data or preventing cyber threats, you'll be equipped to make a real impact.
Our Cybersecurity program is offered in a hybrid format through our partnership with Rize Education. Through this consortium of 100+ private colleges, you’ll take a select number of courses online with peers from across the country taught by world-leading experts in this high-demand field. This innovative model gives you access to a global, industry-driven curriculum with the small campus experience you want.
Industry experts will teach you a combination of the hard skills and soft skills necessary to work in this fast-growing industry. They’ll use discussions, projects, and real-world case studies to prepare you for industry certifications. You’ll learn about the different types of cyberattacks, how to defend against them, and how to recover from them. You’ll also learn about network security, cryptography, and other cybersecurity technologies. This program will prepare you to earn the following certifications:
● Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a globally recognized certification that validates an individual's expertise in designing, implementing, and managing a best-in-class cybersecurity program.
● Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), a prestigious certification that demonstrates an individual's proficiency in identifying vulnerabilities and weaknesses in computer systems, using the same knowledge and tools as a malicious hacker, but lawfully and legitimately to assess the security posture of a target system.
● Certified Computer Forensics Examiner (CCFE), a specialized certification that signifies an individual's expertise in conducting thorough and effective computer forensics investigations, including the ability to gather, analyze, and preserve digital evidence in a legally admissible way.
This concentration pairs well with other programs related to Criminal Justice such as Forensic Science. If you are interested in corporate-related roles, you can pair the concentration or minor with Business Administration and the IT Management concentration. It sets you up for roles protecting critical infrastructure, customer data, and businesses. As these attacks become more sophisticated, you’ll become far more in demand. Even better, starting salaries for Information Security Analysts average $81k with no experience, and there are approximately 663,430 unfilled positions in the US alone.
